An Inconvenient Truth Review
By: Jayden Perez
The global warming problem is very inconvenient, and so is the truth about it. An Inconvenient Truth is just about that. The movie is about Al Gore, as he explains the problems global warming causes, and how it became such a big problem. The thing is we knew about global warming, but we let it develop because we thought that it couldn’t possibly do enough damage to hurt people, and living creatures around the world. But now we’re in a pickle, and we have to stop it.
The movie includes many facts, and lots of them are interesting, and make me realize how bad the problem for the ecosystem, and the world is. 6 of these facts are that the world will flood if the global warming continues, droughts are happening faster because of global warming relocating water, and floods for the same reason above. The other 3 facts are that the permafrost is melting, and tree’s are getting renamed to drunken trees, as they have no support, and teeter in different directions, the number of co2, and temperature rising, fit together as the number of greenhouse gases, increase the heat, and that the arctic poles are acting like mirrors.
The aspect of the film that increased my knowledge was the frog cartoon. This cartoon was about how people, and frog’s react if there is a sudden change, but if the change is slowly happening we won’t notice. This added to my knowledge of global warming, and made me understand even more how the problem that we now as global warming even came to be.
This movie is so good that there really isn’t much that I can do to make the film better. However what I would ask is for them to update the movie to the modern problems of global warming. The situation has only gotten worst. He just needs to update the film to involve national disasters like Sandy. Otherwise this movie is great, and fits the bill it needs to be called the global warning about global warming.
There are some places like these in the movie, such as none like it hot, or the flood/drought chart. This really increases my love for this movie. Though too most it could be boring to me it was interesting. It showed how much of a mess us humans tend to make. Al Gore also constantly got off topic, but it lead to his part, and made humor. This made the movie feel more like someone was telling me a story, and not facts. His voice, and his personal relationship in the movie, made it seem more, and more enriching, and just all around a better movie, while still informing me of the inconvenient truth.
The movie feels like a documentary, with personality. It’s not a boring repetitive pattern of facts, and talking. It includes fun ways to get everyone interested, whilst still including many facts about this problem. Nothing was even unconvincing in the slightest. Even a boring chart is made interesting with the voice, and craft Al Gore put into this movie. Even though the name of the movie may drive people away there is nothing inconvenient about watching this amazing film.
